About Carrie

My name is Carrie Sokolowski Wehunt, and I am a proud mother of three wonderful children—Dalton, Hayden Claire, and Grayson. Family has always been at the heart of my life, inspiring me in everything I do.

For the past 29 years, I have dedicated my career to education, teaching first grade, science, library, physical education, and sign language. Throughout my teaching journey, I have had the privilege of coaching numerous middle and high school sports teams, as well as guiding students through Battle of the Books competitions. My passion for education goes beyond the classroom, as I believe in encouraging children to discover their strengths, embrace their individuality, and believe in themselves.

Athletics have also played a significant role in my life. As a three-sport collegiate athlete at Juniata College, I competed in softball, field hockey, and women's basketball. In October 2013, I was honored to be inducted into the Juniata College Sports Hall of Fame in recognition of my athletic accomplishments.

My love for fitness and personal growth led me to work as a trainer for many years, empowering women to become stronger both mentally and physically so they could live healthier, more fulfilling lives. My background also includes sports conditioning and athletic development for varsity athletes and children of various ages.

Of all my experiences and accomplishments, nothing brings me greater joy than spending time with my children—coaching, supporting, encouraging, and cheering them on as they pursue their own dreams.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, experiences, and people who have shaped my journey. Above all, I give thanks to God, my family, and my friends, whose love, faith, and encouragement have been the foundation of my life's greatest blessings.

After nearly three decades of working with children, my love for storytelling has grown into a passion for writing children's books. I believe every child deserves to experience the wonder of imagination, the joy of reading, and the encouragement to believe in themselves. Through my stories, I hope to inspire kindness, curiosity, courage, and the understanding that even the smallest among us can make a meaningful difference in the world.
